Cheng Mingyong

Bio

Mingyong Cheng, originally from Beijing and now based in California, is an interdisciplinary artist working at the intersection of AI, generative art, and environmental research. Her practice explores the co-creative potential of generative AI in art, reimagining the boundaries between human and synthetic intelligence. By engaging AI as an active collaborator, she investigates new ways of visualizing ecological narratives and speculative environments. Since 2024, she has been incorporating biofeedback data into her artistic exploration, seeking to expand its possibilities across different forms and sensory experiences. Her work engages with computational media, interactive systems, and real-time data, aiming to create immersive and reflective spaces that challenge conventional perceptions of nature, technology, and creativity. She is a PhD candidate at UC San Diego and welcomes collaboration in these evolving areas of artistic research.
