Pierre Jolivet (born 1964, Paris) is a French-born, Dublin-based sound artist and composer best known under the moniker Pacific 231. Emerging from the first wave of French industrial and power‑electronics in the early 1980s, his practice has evolved toward experimental ambient, electro‑acoustic and spatial sound, with a strong emphasis on sensorial perception and immersive installation. Alongside his artistic work he holds advanced academic credentials (MFA, PhD) and contributes to research, teaching, and juries in the sonic arts. His portfolio spans solo releases, collaborations, live A/V works, and interactive installations presented internationally.
